Morning Routine
My day starts early, around 6:30 a.m. After a quick breakfast, I head to the Bay-Care Heating & Air office to collect my work orders and load up my van with the necessary tools and equipment. As an HVAC technician, I never know what challenges the day might bring, so I make sure I’m prepared for anything.
First Call: AC Installation
My first job of the day is an AC installation in Millsboro, DE. The homeowners are excited to have a brand-new, energy-efficient system installed before the scorching summer heat sets in. I meticulously follow the installation guidelines, ensuring that the unit is properly sized for the home and that all connections are secure and leak-free.
Lunchtime Pit Stop
After a successful installation, I grab a quick lunch and check my schedule for the afternoon. It looks like I have a couple of AC repair jobs lined up in Bethany Beach and Ocean View.
Afternoon Repairs
- Bethany Beach: The homeowner’s AC unit is blowing warm air. After a thorough inspection, I identify a refrigerant leak and proceed to repair the leak and recharge the system.
- Ocean View: This call is for a faulty compressor. I explain to the homeowner that a compressor replacement is necessary, and we schedule a follow-up appointment to complete the repair.
Evening Wrap-Up
As the day winds down, I head back to the office to log my work orders and restock my van for tomorrow’s calls. Before leaving, I check if there are any emergency calls that need immediate attention. Thankfully, it’s a quiet evening, so I can head home and get some well-deserved rest.
Being an HVAC technician with Bay-Care Heating & Air is a rewarding and challenging job. Every day brings new opportunities to help homeowners and businesses in Dagsboro, Millsboro, Millville, Ocean View, Selbyville, and Bethany Beach stay comfortable year-round.
